Empowering Communities: Alexia Champions Heartfelt Causes
While researching the nexus between built environments and brain activity, Alexia unearthed the transformative power of design on Veterans grappling with PTSD and depression. A pivotal moment during an initiative with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) saw her spearhead the creation of a healing room for U.S. Veterans. Working hand in hand with an army of volunteers, she carved out a haven of peace. This project wasn't just another assignment; it lit the path to Alexia's unyielding commitment to Veterans.
Drawn by her drive to reshape lives, Alexia allied with Valors Veterans Community AZ (VVCAZ). More than an organization, VVCAZ is a haven, connecting Veterans with resources and strengthening ties within their communities through events and shared experiences.
In collaboration with VVCAZ, Alexia's expertise in interior design takes center stage. Through her transformative designs, Veterans find spaces where comfort meets function. One Veteran remarked, "The sanctuaries Alexia crafts have profoundly influenced my well-being."
Alexia's support doesn't merely stop at design. She is in the process of initiating a scholarship and mentorship program for Veterans aspiring to the realm of real estate. Combining her prowess in design, real estate, and her unique understanding as a Military Relocation Professional, Alexia dreams of a community where Veterans find their footing with ease.
After witnessing the silent battles of Veterans, Alexia felt an overwhelming pull towards suicide prevention. This urge led her to Teen Lifeline. To her, every heartbeat, every shared smile, every moment matters. It was this philosophy that prompted her to amplify the voice of Teen Lifeline, advocating for the delicate threads that bind life.
Since 1986, Teen Lifeline has been a beacon, offering Arizona's youth an anchoring point during turbulent times. Dedicated to preventing teen suicide, they weave resilience into young souls and foster communities that listen and understand. Alexia's partnership has enabled events and fundraisers that amplify this mission. Last year alone, her efforts helped raise over $10K, embodying the power of collective care.
Teen Lifeline doesn't only offer a helpline. They educate and empower. Their multi-pronged approach has positively impacted lives, with a staggering 87% of callers finding a renewed zest for life.
